You guys were truly impressive today! I was really proud to see the level of effort in preparation, analysis, and participation you put forth in today's Socratic Seminar. Your questions, arguments, and especially the linkages you made between complex concepts, were excellent. The discussion was absolutely at a university level, so you should be patting yourselves on the back. I knew you would get there--I just didn't expect to see it happen in September! =)
I would like to know your thoughts on today's seminar--what went well, what could be improved, how you felt you performed personally. Please leave a comment below. I also want your honest feedback on the extent to which you felt me forcing you to record your "thinking moves" helped you develop sounder analyses and better cross-connections between readings. In your graphic organizers, I see evidence of much deeper thinking than usual. If you have not yet uploaded yours to Google Drive, please do ASAP. The goal, by the way, is not to give you more work; it's to have you practice certain types of thinking until they become automatic, thus making recording your thinking process unnecessary.
Your other homework is to read and outline the first two sections in Rubenstein Ch. 2
