Really great work today in linking concepts using hexagonal thinking. Here are some pics!
As for your homework, please do the following:
Your blog post is due on Monday by 8 p.m. You must also read and constructively comment on the posts of two other students before class on Tuesday, as part of your participation mark,
- Use Video Notes to view and take notes on The Story of Change (which complements The Story of Stuff). Think about the following questions (which you will need to consider for the blog post portion of your homework): To what extent do her arguments about how social change happens address root causes? Do you really need to address roots causes in order to create meaningful positive change?
- Next, read, annotate, and take notes on the arguments and evidence provided in the following article by Naomi Klein: Naomi Klein on Climate Failure
- Write a reflective blog post explaining her arguments and evidence, and answering the following Essential Question: In order to create a sustainable world for this and future generations, what actions need to happen? In doing so, be sure to discuss the causes and symptoms of unsustainability, consider levels of causation and whether you believe root causes need to be addressed, and of course, Klein's argument and evidence. You can (but don't have to) reference The Story of Stuff, No Impact Man, and #FloodWallStreet.
